My trip to Anime Con 2024
In June 2024, a close friend and I went to RI Anime Con 2024. We went as a cosplay pair with him dressed as Monkey D. Luffy and myself as Trafalgar D. Water Law from One Piece. I had two goals in mind at the anime convention, have fun and practice my photography.
The Rhode Island Anime Con is yearly summer event in Providence Rhode Island that is about all things anime. This website can be found here. The con is for meeting and interacting with various artists, voice actors, cosplayers and merch stands to just have fun and enjoy the medium of anime.
I personally love the general atmosphere of everyone in costumes and there being this level of pure fun and excitement in the air. It reminds me of Halloween a bit, everyone in costumes and just going about their days in awesome outfits and colors. I really wish it was more common to have cosplayers in casual settings, I love walking around my local mall afterwards and see all the cosplayers going about the shops.
